Maybelline Colorama - Blackout

This is just a short post of Maybelline's Blackout, which is a normal black with a glossy finish.
I found that I have really missed wearing just pure black nails. Black is probably the "color" I have used most throughout my life, specially in the earlier days. Black fits with everything and you can always use black as emergency solution. Now I'm more into colored polishes though :) 
I am only wearing one coat. 

As always I am posting swatch and nail art in separate posts, so I got another post for you right away...! ;)

Chevron Nails !

Hello again!

Here's my attempt at chevron nails. I recently bought Mavala's Bamako (I freaking love that green!!) and this lovely Ocean Blue , and I thought they would look really good together.
So this is the result!

The colors look a bit dull in these next two pictures - they are pre-topcoat.

....but on the next picture you can really see how lovely the colors are. The blue has a nice shimmer in it, and the green is just lovely!

I always have such a hard time capturing black polishes! Every light reflects in them, and they just look so weird. Nothing to do about that, I guess..
And I know the lines are somewhat uneven - I hope I will do better next time ;)

Dark Side of the Moon nails!

Dear readers, may I introduce to you my Pink Floyd nails, Dark Side of the Moon!

The stripes are made with a pointy dotting tool.
To do this you must put a drop of your chosen nail polish on a piece of paper (or something like that) and use this to dip your dotting tool in.

I tried to do this on my left hand too, but the stripes came out too uneven (I'm left handed) so I had to give it up, and my left hand is now just pure black. I won't show you my other hand today beacuse 1) it's just black and b) I broke a nail while bowling last evening :(

The black polish I used is from Maybelline Colorama '677 Blackout'.

I sure love this design, without being a smug or anything!
